Welcome to the Deer and Bat class page! Here you will find information for the term, including topic newsletters and homework, as well as any important letters. You will be able to see all of the exciting things we have been up to in class. Take a look!
Miss Jolliffe and Miss Jones
We used our maths knowledge in our history lesson today. We were given the task to search the playground for Roman clues. We found the Roman clues and had to discover the value of each image to help us answer some addition problems!
What a Wonderful World
As part of Black History Month, Year 4 have taken inspiration from Louis Armstrong's 'What a Wonderful World' and written their own versions of the song.
This term, each year group was lucky enough to have two sessions with Mrs Millman in Forest School! We had such a good time learning how to work as a team, problem solve and explore the wildlife area!
This term, we took part in our first CSET Virtual Competition against other schools! Alex and Dean, two CSET coaches, came in to demonstrate how to complete the cross country course. Each team member ran a total of 600m each. We did brilliantly and really enjoyed it!
Becoming travel writers
We have been learning how to write persuasively. In order to see how adverts persuade us, we had a look through lots of different travel brochures to learn how the writers try to convince us to book with them!
Headings and subheadings
We have been grouping information all about our Roman topic under the current subheadings to create our own information pages!
In English, we have been learning how to use alliteration to make our descriptions more exciting! We used pictures of various settings and wrote alliterative phrases to describe them with a partner.
To start the year, we have been thinking about our dreams and aspirations for the year ahead.
