Welcome

Welcome to our Year 6 page.  Here you'll find all the information for homework, newsletters and all of the amazing things we have been doing in class. Keep a look out for the latest information and keep up to date with any exciting events that have happened at school! Children will be given their spellings on a weekly basis and tested on a Friday. We have a weekly battle of the bands on Times Tables Rockstars with MVP up for grabs! Homework will be given out at the beginning of each term - with weekly spelling homework. We will keep the Reading Karate bands up to date and monitor your child's progress throughout the year.

Please do not hesitate to get in contact with any of the Year 6 team if there is anything you need to discuss with us. If it is easier for us to give you a call, just drop the office an email and we can get back to you! Thank you for your continued support, it really does mean a lot!

Kingfishers Japanese Inspired Art Work

The first Monday of Term 4 started with a BANG! We kicked off our Tudor topic with a big bang morning where the children in Y5 and 6 got to experience some exciting activities surrounding the Tudors! They played Henry VIII's favourite sport - tennis; created delicious fondant fruits and vegetables; tried their hand at calligraphy and quill making; got competitive with a game of jacks and also weaved some beautiful creations from wool and sticks collected from the woodland area.

Y6 Parents - SATs Information Afternoon

Please come along to the SATs information on Tuesday 11th February, straight after school. You will have a chance to ask any questions you may have and to take a look at past papers. If you cannot make it, we will upload the information to the website. Alternatively, feel free to get in contact with one of us to ask any questions - big or small, we are here to help! Thank you, Y6 Team

Kingfisher class have been designing and creating some incredibly eye catching dragon eyes with Mr Capell during art lessons. Mr Capell and I have been blown away by their creativity and imaginative designs!

Charanga in Y6 - Glockenspiels

Over the past few terms, Falcons and Kingfishers have gotten to grips with playing the Glockenspiel. During our weekly music lessons, both classes have been learning to play various pieces of music, spanning genres, tempos and history. Most recently Falcons have played the beautifully emotive, "You've Got A Friend" by Carole King and Kingfishers have mastered "Classroom Jazz" as well as "You've Got A Friend". Although it was tricky to begin with, after slowing down the tempo and practising their parts, the classes have played both pieces amazingly well and have grown in confidence!
