Term 1 - What is Sound?
What is sound?
Year 4's first enquiry was called 'What is Sound?'. During this enquiry, the children became scientists, musicians and engineers.
As scientists, they created string telephones to investigate how distance affects sound.
As musicians, they made some panpipes to explore pitch.
After investigating which materials best muffled sound, the children became engineers and made a pair of ear defenders.
